Growing up in Winston Salem, Mary and her sister spent long afternoons at the kitchen table painting together. This practice cultivated a passion for creativity, which Mary continued while studying at Clemson University. She now lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband and yellow lab, where she paints from her studio in their 1934 bungalow. Mary wants to take the joy of spending time outdoors into the home through her oil paintings. She gains inspiration in nature from observing the growth of a flower, to seeing a sunset reflect light onto a mountain range. Her paintings are the product of her imagination taking hold of her daily observations of the natural world.
