Tell us a little about yourself

I am an intuitive, abstract painter and poet living in Mount Pleasant, SC.  I aim to empower others through art and writing-the strength, healing, beauty, discovery, and hope residing within.  Sharing my creation has connected me to wonderful clients across the country.  Currently I exhibit at Miller Gallery downtown Charleston, Anearte Gallery in San Antonio, and here on Docent!

What's inspiring you right now?

Women. The incredible obstacles and determination many women continue to overcome.  Kindness from strangers.  Seeing women support and embrace each other’s accomplishments.  The beauty in the unknown. The resilience and power as it relates to the maternal in nature.   The divine and universal experience found in awareness, self-reflection, and affirmation.

What's your favorite thing to collect?

Art with a story.  Work that evokes an emotion and resonates a guttural reaction.

What gives you the most joy?
My eleven year old daughter Isla, my seven year old labradoodle Goji, the marshes and ocean, flowers, friendships.  Meaningful and educational conversations.  Painting commissions with purpose, and finding clients that connect with my purpose in an inexplicable but powerful way.
What habits help (or hinder) your creativity?
Sometimes it’s hard to find the balance between creation and marketing, playful curiosity and daily business.  I’ve always loved both sides and find exercise, meditation, planning, and relaxation are all helpful tools in regulation.
